Mary M. McDermott MD is the Jeremiah Stamler Professor of Medicine at Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine. Dr. McDermott is a physician scientist and clinical trialist whose work focuses on identifying interventions to improve walking performance in people with peripheral artery disease. Dr. McDermott is a Master of The Society of Vascular Medicine and an American Heart Association Distinguished Scientist. She was the 2021 recipient of the John M. Eisenberg Award for Research Achievement and the 2022 recipient of a Distinguished Achievement award from the Peripheral Vascular Disease Council of the AHA. She is She is a Deputy Editor for the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA).
