Andrew J. Klein, MD, FACC, FSCAI is an adult interventional cardiologist with specialty training in endovascular and vascular medicine. Dr. Klein joined Piedmont Heart Institute in December 2015, having previously served at the John Cochran VA Medical Center in St. Louis and as an Associate professor of Medicine at St. Louis University School of Medicine. He received his undergraduate degree at the University of Notre Dame, medical degree from MCP Hahnemann School of Medicine and completed his internal medicine training at the UCSF. He completed his cardiology and interventional cardiology fellowships at the University of Colorado, Denver where he also trained in endovascular and vascular medicine. Following a year of advanced cardiology research fellowship training at the University of Wisconsin, he joined the St. Louis VA Healthcare System. Dr. Klein is boarded in 5 medical specialties including internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, interventional cardiology, vascular medicine and endovascular medicine. He has authored over 50 peer-review articles, 6 book chapters and has been invited to speak at the local and national level on PAD and complex coronary intervention. Dr. Klein is an active member and fellow in SCAI and serves on several committees and a fellow of the American College of Cardiology. He is a member of the Emerging Leader in Medicine (ELM) Fellowship program of SCAI/ACC/CRF. He is the co- director for the Piedmont Pulmonary Embolism Response Team (PERT) and his research and clinical interests include pulmonary embolism, peripheral arterial disease, endovascular revascularization/ limb salvage, and advanced coronary revascularization including atherectomy and complex high risk indicated procedures (CHIP). He is very active in research and serves as site PI on several ongoing clinical trials at Piedmont Heart Institute.
