Stephanie Zawada, M.S. is a Ph.D. Candidate and PhRMA Foundation Predoctoral Fellow in Value Assessment at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science, where her dissertation focuses on two parts: (1) decentralized clinical trial design and validation for remote monitoring and (2) regulatory reform and reimbursement strategies for remote monitoring technologies. As a 2022-23 American Heart Association National Hispanic/Latino Cardiovascular Collaborative Scholar, she has explored new ways to increase access to decentralized clinical trials for urban and rural Hispanic populations. She is a current NIH TL1 trainee and was an FDA Center of Excellence in Regulatory Science and Innovation Scholar. She was a Bastiat Fellow, focusing on health economics, at George Mason University's Mercatus Center (2020-23), a Peer Reviewer for the Arizona Biomedical Research Commission (2021-Current), and a former intellectual property fellow at Mount Sinai Innovation Partners (2021-22). Stephanie earned her M.S. in electrical & computer engineering at The University of Arizona in 2017 after being named a co-inventor on a patent application and the lead student editor for three science diplomacy textbooks authored in collaboration with embassies and science academies from around the world. Stephanie completed her bachelor's degree in biochemistry while funded as a national General Electric/LULAC scholar and as a NASA Space Grant recipient. A native of Arizona, she was The University of Arizona's Class of 2015 Gold Medal Senior.
