James Boothe, MD is an academic hospitalist at The Johns Hopkins Hospital, where he also holds the post of Assistant Professor of Medicine in The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. His professional focus is on medical education for students and providers of all training and practice levels. Dr. Boothe graduated from Columbia University in 2015 with his BA in Biological Sciences. Immediately thereafter, he began working on his MD in his home state at West Virginia University School of Medicine, where he also served for three years as a peer tutor for medical students. After graduating in the top quartile of his medical school class, he began Internal Medicine residency at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, where he was on the Medical Education Pathway as well as the Hospital Medicine Pathway. In residency, he was recognized with an Excellence in Teaching Award. Upon completing residency, he joined the Medicine faculty at Johns Hopkins.
