Dr. Wells is an Associate Professor of Medicine in the Division of Cardiology at Emory University School of Medicine. Dr. Wells graduated from the Medical College of Georgia. He completed residency and chief residency in internal medicine at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and cardiology fellowship at Emory University. Dr. Wells is board certified in internal medicine, cardiology, vascular medicine, vascular imaging (RPVI), echocardiography, and nuclear cardiology. He is an active member and fellow of the American College of Cardiology, American Society of Echocardiography, and the Society for Vascular Medicine. He is the Director of Vascular Medicine and Director of the Vascular Laboratory for the Division of Cardiology at Emory. He is the past Chair of the Circulation and Vascular Council and served on the board of directors for the American Society for Echocardiography. He serves on the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission Vascular Testing board of directors. He is the Emory principal investigator for the Fibromuscular Dysplasia National Registry, the Internal Spontaneous Coronary Dissection Registry, and the Antithrombotic Therapy to Ameliorate Complications of COVID-19 (ATTACC) Trial. He is a co-investigator for PREVENT-HD, GPAD-3, and multiple renal denervation trials. He is a society small group advisor for the school of medicine, and also teaches PA students, residents, and fellows.
