Adam Johnson, MD, MPH, is an assistant professor of surgery at Duke University in Durham, NC. His current research interests are to develop, evaluate, and implement decision-support tools for clinicians caring for patients with peripheral arterial disease. His approach is based on three fundamental principles: open-source informatics, human-centered design, and remote collaboration. He has a background in quality improvement, patient safety, EMR development, and coding/collaboration in R. He is also the co-founder and managing editor for Audible Bleeding: The Vascular Surgery Podcast. He completed his vascular surgery training at New York-Presbyterian Cornell/Columbia Program in New York City, NY and an international fellowship in aortic surgery at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh in Scotland, UK.
